Since most clients come to The SEB Group, Inc., via referral and the client base is kept to a select level, only a small well-trained support staff is needed. In addition to the president, Sharon E. Binstok, there is a full-time licensed (FINRA Series 7 securities registration) assistant.
Sharon E. Binstok
Sharon E. Binstok, President of The SEB Group, began her career in the financial industry in 1993. In addition to her financial and insurance expertise, Ms. Binstok’s experience includes an extensive background in research and analysis. As President of The SEB Group, Inc., she takes great pride in the individualized attention she and her company provide to clients. Because most new clients are referrals, The SEB Group, Inc., can maintain close relationships with its clients, building lasting and trusting bonds. For The SEB Group, Inc., one-size does not fit all, and each client, after a thorough needs analysis, receives unique and specific recommendations. Ms. Binstok is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®). She has also earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation. She is designated as a Registered Tax Return Preparer® (RTRP®) and has met the requirements to be a participant in the Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) by the Internal Revenue Service. Ms. Binstok holds the Series 7 and 63 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network® and is a licensed insurance agent. She has a master’s of science degree in quantitative analysis from New York University School of Business Administration.
“Steady” and “balanced” define Ms. Binstok’s investment philosophy. She is a firm believer that careful and thorough planning and research builds the best foundation for designing a client’s portfolio. During the new client discovery period, Ms. Binstok gathers a myriad of information, including:
- learning about clients’ long- and short-term goals,
- assessing the clients’ risk profile (to ascertain what is an appropriate and comfortable level of risk for the client),
- reviewing insurance policies (life, long-term care, disability),
- reviewing tax and estate issues, and
- using this time as the first step in “getting to know each other” so that a trusting and mutually beneficial relationship can be established.
The SEB Group, Inc., believes that each client relationship is valued and personal.
Sharon's personal interests are diverse. She is fluent in French and loves to travel.
